The challenge
The Ultimate Bowls Championship (UBC) needed a comprehensive digital system to support their fast-paced and innovative scoring format, enhance spectator engagement, and streamline game management. The system required:
- Real-time score tracking and updates for games.
- Dynamic scoreboard screens for use at the venue, in livestream overlays, and for public viewing online.
- Administrative tools for setting up and managing games.
- Detailed statistics exports for teams, players, and administrators.
- Embedded software to power the scoreboard screens with video animations and live updates.
- A public website with live scoreboards that could operate independently from ongoing game operations.
UBC’s requirements demanded seamless integration of these features to deliver a modern and engaging experience for players, spectators, and organizers.

We developed a suite of tools and software to power UBC’s innovative scoring system, enhance their digital presence, and streamline game operations. From embedded software for live score updates to a public-facing website, our solution was designed to meet UBC’s unique needs.

Admin and scorer tools
Built a web interface for managing games and a scorer interface for tracking real-time scores.
Dynamic scoreboards
Developed screens displaying game scores, team standings, points tables, and score summaries in real time, with integrated video animations.
Livestream overlays
Created scoreboard screens optimized for livestreams, ensuring seamless integration with broadcasts.
Embedded software
Developed software for Dragonboards and Amazon Fire Sticks to run animations and display scoreboard screens.
Statistics and exports
Created tools to generate detailed statistics for teams, players, and admin staff.
Public website and scoreboards
Built the UBC public website, including public access to live scoreboards without impacting ongoing game operations.
